January 24, 2018

To quote the New York Times, Ursula Le Guin was “the immensely popular author who brought literary depth and a tough-minded feminist sensibility to science fiction and fantasy.” She died at her home on Portland at 88. Follow this link to the obituary by the New York Times.

Le Guin is best known for her young adult Earthsea Trilogy, and her novels The Left Hand of Darkness and The Lathe of Heaven.  She also wrote many short stories and novellas which have been collected in two volumes by Saga Press, The Unreal and the Real: The Selected Short Stories of Ursula K. Le Guin and The Found and the Lost: The Collected Novellas of Ursula K. Le Guin.

The two books are also available in a slip-cased edition.
